About
Michael Combs is a co-founder of Hearing At Home and a licensed Hearing Instrument Specialist with years of experience helping people throughout the Shenandoah Valley hear—and live—better.
After working in both private and corporate hearing-care settings, Michael saw an opportunity to provide something more personal. In 2016, he helped establish Hearing At Home with a simple belief: quality hearing care should never feel rushed, impersonal, or centered only on selling a hearing aid.
Michael takes time to understand each person’s hearing challenges, daily life, and the relationships that matter most to them. He knows that hearing loss can affect much more than conversation—it can lead to frustration, isolation, and missed moments with family and friends. His goal is to help patients reconnect with the people and activities they love through practical solutions, honest guidance, and ongoing support.
He has extensive experience with hearing technology, tinnitus management, dementia-sensitive care, and occupational hearing conservation. However, Michael believes his most important qualification is the trust he builds with the people he serves. Many patients have known him for years and appreciate his straightforward advice, sense of humor, and commitment to treating every person like family.
Michael’s desire to help others also extends beyond the Shenandoah Valley. He has participated in volunteer hearing-care and missionary work in communities throughout the United States and abroad. Whether he is serving someone across the world or sitting with a patient close to home, his purpose remains the same: to help people feel heard, connected, and genuinely cared for.
