Education – 1991 graduated Wilson Memorial H.S 1989-1991 Vocational Training Center Accounting I & II
Activities I have lived in this community for 27 yrs with my husband, Sam and our 2 sons. I have developed deep connections. I enjoy talking to people and getting to know their families. I love to help people in many different ways. One way I do this is thru a volunteer ministry work which brings me great joy. My belief brings me great comfort and I love to share that comfort with others. I also love my dogs. It is never a dull moment around here and they think I’m pretty cool.
Work experience – Current: Hearing at Home Past: Hearing Healthcare of Virginia
What did you want to be when you were growing up?
A Secretary (don’t laugh! It seemed very glamorous at the time) My best friend and I played “office” when we were little and LOVED to smack the keys on the typewriter. Very 9 To 5.
If you could have dinner with three people, who would they be?
Noah, my pawpaw & Edgar Allen Poe. Noah was so brave and I just have to ask about all the animals that are extinct now. Edgar Allen Poe because I was fascinated by him at a young age. What was behind all those writings and what was up with marrying your 13 yr old cousin?
What is your favorite movie of all time?
Grease 2 hands down!! My best friend Robin lived next door and we were totally into Pink Ladies. We had the matching jackets. We could turn the volume down and recite the songs word for word. Yes…we were that good!!
What is your favorite food to eat?
Chinese (yum yum) morning, noon or night.
Where is your dream vacation destination?
Scotland. Always has been. That is the ONLY place I have ever wanted to visit. And that accent….so dreamy.
What do you like to do when you're not working?
Napping with my dogs!! I can’t express this enough. Anyone who knows me knows just how much I love our dogs. They are a great source comfort and they always lower my anxiety. They are so cute, trust me.
What makes you laugh the most?
this is a tie between watching animals play and my husband. He is HYSTERICAL!!! He is a keeper for sure.
What would you sing at Karaoke night?
Delta Dawn by Tanya Tucker. My Daddy used to sing this when I was little so I learned it by heart at a young age. I’m not good at singing it but I sing it like I wrote it.
Aside from necessities, what one thing could you not go a day without?
Love from our dogs. If not, I guess seeing a picture of them will do in a pinch. Have I told you how cute they are?!
What is your favorite thing about Hearing at Home?
Hearing stories from a generation that has seen so many things come and go. Wow. Each one is like opening a history book.
